Sunday, 1st of February, 2015. As usual, I came to department
at around 10.40 a.m .The department is yet to be opened. So, I
decided to take a walk till someone opened the department. Along the lawn, I clicked pictures. These were some of the the pictures.
Suddenly, a friend of mine called me for class. I hurried to the lobby. I came little late. Sir, did not move in to the classroom. He asked us whether we were late or not. Someone said that we were early, but we are late now.He explained the actual meaning of time. He asked us who is the boss ? Soumee and Hindol said we, and others said Sir you are the boss. Sir again asked Soumee and Hindol, Who is the boss? It came to an end when they say, Sir you are the boss. Now, Sir demanded us to salute him saying "you should salute your boss, Now Salute your boss". We saluted him. He again demanded us to salute uniformly. We tried but still could not made it to salute uniformly even though we count 1..2...3....At last Sir tells us to choose one leader with the question " who slave you want to be ? Most of us choose Hindol as our leader. He leads us for sometime but later he is withdrawn from his post . They choose me as a leader but my leadership does not goes out well too. So, i propose Mainak to be a leader, everyone agrees to it. Under his leadership, it goes little better but still he lacks something. At last, Sir took incharge and lead us. We are trained like an army by Sir Tanmay in a film school.
Sir also tells us to rewrite our blog as we do not describes it well. He gives us time to write.
Screcheta Case- Sir also tells us what should we do about Screecheta for not coming in the session? We gives our viewpoint. It come to a conclusion that she should not join.
What i learnt in today workshop - once we commit, we should dedicate our time full heartedly.
Second session-
We came to the department and starts writing our own blog. Then we all decided to click the pictures first and do our blog later. We clicked pictures of pinhole camera for previous day blogging assignment. Sir came to the classroom. And with the camera in his hand he tells us to understand about the basic terms like meta- data, modes, ISO, aperture, f- stop, shutter speed, exposure meter via overexposure and under exposure, picture style, white balance, color temperature, image quality via latitude, resolution, dynamic range, color reproduction, color depth, codec, picture size, histogram , film format via JPEG and raw.
a) Meta data- Metadata is data that describes other data. In short, it can means as descriptions. Metadata summarizes basic information about data, which can make finding and working with particular instances of data easier.
b) Mode in Camera-
This allows us to rotate and choose any mode like auto, guide, photo, manual by rotating various mode to the white dot at the centre.
c)ISO-The ISO speed determines how sensitive the camera is to incoming light. Then we capture an image at 1600 it give grinds to an image quality.
d) Aperture- Larger the opening, more light will enters to the camera. Smaller the opening , small amount of light will fall into the camera.
e) f-stop-The f-number N is given by
-
where
is the
focal length, and
is the diameter of the entrance pupil (
effective aperture).
f) exposure meter- A light meter is a device used to measure the amount of light. In photography, a lightmeter is often used to determine the proper exposure for a photograph.
i) underexpose- It means to say that the image is too dark.
ii) overexpose- it means to say the image is too bright..
f) Picture style- Picture Style enables you to take photos in the color tones best suited to each subject.
g)white balance- The reason we adjust white balance is to get the colors in your images as accurate as possible.
h) color temperature- The color temperature of a light source is the temperature of an ideal black body - radiator that radiates light of comparable hue to that of the light source.
i)image quality- Image quality can be characterised by
i)Sharpnesss determines the amount of detail an image can convey. System sharpness is affected by the lens.
ii)Dynamic range (or exposure range) is the range of light levels a camera can capture, usually measured in f-stops, EV (exposure value), or zones (all factors of two in exposure). It is closely related to noise: high noise implies low dynamic range.
iii) tone reproduction- is the relationship between scene luminance and the reproduced image brightness.
j)colour depth- He number of distinct colors that can be represented by a piece of hardware or software. Color depth is sometimes referred to as bit depth because it is directly related to the number of bits used for each pixel )
k) codec- A codec is a device or computer program capable of encoding or decoding a digital dat stream or signal.
l)picture size-
m) histogram- A histogram is a graphical representation of the distribution of data.
n)film format- A film format is a technical definition of a set of standard characteristics regarding image capture on photographic film, for either stills or filmmaking.
